Hi folks! Welcome to our St. David's United Church Web Page. We are very glad that you visited us here! St. David's is a lovely modern church located in the North East section of Woodstock, Ontario. on the corner of Springbank Avenue and Sprucedale Avenue. The church is clean and bright with a variety of activities suitable for all ages and tastes.

St. David's has a reputation for giving a high priority to outreach, worship, pastoral care, education and youth. St. David's has a great variety of activities which serve a broad range of ages and interests. There is always something going on seven days of the week in all corners of the church. We have an active Sunday School and many mid-week activities.

Perhaps the best way to describe the atmosphere at St. David's is that we have a lot of fun! Our Sunday service is very informal in both presentation and in dress. We have a rich tradition of lay participation in both music and in worship, and we are prone to bouts of hilarity from time to time!

In an atmosphere which is warm and comfortable there is still a strong feeling of caring and concern for others. We know how to laugh together, but we also know how to share each others' pain and tears when the situation warrants it.

We have a church mascot - a large teddy bear named "Gladly"! He first visited St. David's on Christmas Eve, 1991 and has stayed with us ever since. He was dropped off by a mysterious stranger who never returned. He is always dressed appropriately for every festive occasion. And on any Sunday morning Gladly can usually be seen sitting in a pew, sometimes downstairs and sometimes in the balcony. On special occasions he has been known to occupy a place of honour in the pulpit or in the choir loft!

Since 1993 we have published a newsletter two times a year called "The Cross Eyed Bear". The newsletter draws its name from Gladly, our mascot. It is circulated to over 500 families both within and outside our congregation and to former members who want to keep in touch.
