MEN'S EXERCISE GROUP

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:00 a.m. in Kirk Hall at St. David’s, a group of men that proclaim “we’re not getting older … we’re getting healthier’,  meet for a one hour morning workout.

These workouts, are led by trained VON volunteers and consist of a warm-up, cardio exercise, balance, stretching and a period of cool-down.  No special equipment is really necessary except running shoes and comfortable clothing.  We pay $2.25 per visit and you are encouraged to participate whenever it is convenient.

Each day the size of our group varies from about 20+ to maybe 12 or less.  Many are from the Family of St. David’s, but not all.  Pop in some morning and ‘check us out’.

Of course, the most important part is the coffee after workout (usually at Tim Horton’s on Devonshire).  It is here where many of the world and local dilemmas are discussed and solved!

HOPE TO HAVE YOU JOIN WITH OUR GROUP!!!

MEN'S MONTHLY BREAKFAST GROUP

On the first Sunday of every month, a group of St. David’s men gather at the Quality Inn for a delicious buffet breakfast and a time of fellowship.  Not many problems of the day are solved, but we usually have an opinion or two on the Jays or the Maple Leafs latest trials and tribulations.

The cost per person is quite reasonable at $10.00 that includes the tip.  Out of that, we manage to amass a small bank balance (kept by Don Dibsdale).  Over the years, the money has been used for various projects; such as a class room for a school in Africa, a tree to commemorate St. David’s 50th Anniversary, etc.

The men of this group (currently led by Ken Shrubsall) also contribute over $3,000 per year to the St. David’s Local fund by volunteering to set up chairs, tables and look after refreshments for the Century 21 meeting held in our Kirk Hall every Tuesday morning.

On most Sundays we have a group of about 12 to 20 men that join together starting at 8:00 a.m.  We have no formal executive.  We have no formal agenda, although we have been known to invite a speaker from time to time.  Bob Beattie usually leads us in ‘story telling’, whether we ask him to or not.  After a great breakfast and a GREAT way to start the day, we are usually all fed and gone  by 9:30 (at the latest).

Be brave … if you haven’t ever been to a Men’s breakfast

 … give it a try

…if you haven’t been to one for awhile … like to see you back again

… if you regularly attend every month … bring a friend
